Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (Bajus) has decided to increase the price of gold in the country’s market by Tk1,049.
As a result, the price of good quality gold will stand at Tk82,347, which was earlier Tk81,298.
The matter was confirmed in a press release, signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, on Wednesday.
Gold will be bought and sold across the country according to the new price from Thursday. Bajus said that the new price has been fixed in view of the increase in prices in the local market.
According to the new decision of Bajus, 22-carat gold will cost Tk82,347, 21-carat will cost Tk78, 615, and 18-carat gold will be Tk67,417. However, the price of traditional gold is Tk55,695 as before. Meanwhile, the price of silver was kept unchanged.
The price of 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk1,516, 21-carat silver is Tk1,435, 18-carat is Tk1,225 and traditional silver is Tk933.
